Dear Taiwan,

I feel Grateful as my solo journey comes to an end in the last few hours. We often follow influencers on social media assuming they have a better lifestyle, we often envy others. Social media comparisons also cause anxiety.
I believe that a "good" lifestyle or a "bad" lifestyle are merely our own perspectives.
Throughout this journey, I have gained a new perspective on culture.
people from all over the world converged in New York City. I believe that accepting and understanding different cultures is a way of showing empathy. Although the subway system is old and quite dirty, the high inflation of food prices and the expensive accommodation costs are hard to tolerate compared to Taiwan.

However, New York remains the coolest city in the world because people here embrace a diversity of cultures, making this city full of possibilities and creativity. On the other hand, people who move here tend to have an American dream. We can see the gap between the rich and the poor, and feel the stress and competitive energy in the city.
Taiwan is a beautiful island, and Taiwanese people are known for their friendliness and sincerity. Working in Taipei City is not as competitive as working in New York, and the cost of living is much cheaper. However, we might overlook the development of our city. Hopefully, in the near future, Taiwan can become an international city like New York. To do so, we must embrace all different cultures.
I like Martin Luther King's speech, he said: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character.”We need to widen our perspective. Embraceing people from different nationalities, backgrounds, and cultures, even those from rural areas who may not have had the chance to receive education, or those who believe in different political and religious beliefs. We are all the same, we are human beings. There is no inherently good or bad, it’s just how we perceive the world.
We don’t look at the race , nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or age;we can perceive the world with love, kindness, empathy. Those are the fundamental of cultural values and beliefs.
