Time goes by so fast; I came back from Hong Kong last night, and it feels great after this trip. I wish I could travel more since I haven't traveled for years. Everything is so fresh and exciting.
My mom and I used to visit the jewelry trade show every September in Hong Kong. The last time we visited was three years ago. Everyone says Hong Kong has changed, and yes, it has changed. According to my observation, the most significant change in Hong Kong is the people, not the environment. Previously, Hong Kong had the worst reputation for service, but now it's different; people are friendlier. It might be because there are fewer travelers compared to years ago.
Even the jewelry show has changed a lot too. The CVD lab diamonds have profoundly changed the diamond industry ecosystem. Diamond Rapaport prices have dropped by about 20%. Lab diamonds can easily be mass-produced in factories, and it's quite difficult to distinguish them. Even though people can do a test using equipment or buy a diamond with a certificate, those melee diamonds or diamonds less than 0.10ct are very difficult to distinguish. It might decrease diamond prices even more in the future.
On the other hand, pearl prices have increased significantly. Pearls have become more difficult to cultivate due to sea pollution issues, and the environment has worsened with increasing temperatures.
We didn't buy as much jewelry as usual; we were just browsing. However, I did buy a diamond earring for myself. There are more new companies from China. In the past few years, most jewelry factories have shifted to China, and these factories have started to grow and establish their own brands. The market has become much more competitive, and there aren't many customers at the shows. I can feel that it's still a difficult time for some companies.
My aunt used to come to Hong Kong with us, but she got cervical cancer, so it was just my mom and me. We went shopping and bought some red wine. We had been chatting in the past few days.
There are lots of fine red wines in Hong Kong, and the prices are much cheaper since Hong Kong is a tax-free paradise. It was the very first time I received a luxury bag as a gift from my mom; she bought a Versace bag for me, and I was so happy. My favorite one is an LV bag, but that one is too expensive. My mom also bought herself a BV bag.
I hope we can earn some money from the stock market then I can buy an LV bag for myself. I love trivial, when I was studying GIA in New York City, I could make friends with foreigners, I had a lot of classmates from India, and they were friendly, I really enjoyed learning about different cultures from around the world to broaden my international perspective. is incredibly refreshing and exciting, Making friends with people from foreign countries. Taiwan is wonderful, but it's not as international as places like the United States and Hong Kong. I often watch YouTuber videos of traveling contends; they can often go on trips, and share their experience, I admire this way of life. On the return flight, I didn't want to go back home. I was thinking to planning my next trip. I want to go to Europe, my list includes Portugal, Guatemala, Japan, and South Korea……However, I always travel alone. I really wish to have a travel companion, someone who can share lifetime of adventures. Life is short, and I want to have a great adventure with an angel partner.
