Recently I have been joining a few English language exchange activities, I tried to keep myself busy, this might be the way to escape heartbreak and negative emotions. Also, I’ve been watching lots of stand-up comedic reels on YouTube, I’m crazy about it, especially I love watching Uncle Roger’s channel, I’m also listening to his podcast, comedic actor  Jimmy O Yang is really funny too. I’m enjoying they make those cultural jocks, make me laugh, I also write a comedic speech, it was a scenario that happened in a language exchange. English is my second language, and the best way to interpret properly is to think in English culture. By the way, I think Trevor Noah plays really well with the culture mimic. One of his shows on Netflix has talked about language accents and discrimination, he acted perfectly. There is more, the British rock star Russell Brand's stand-up is also brilliant. He is like a 1960’s hippie living in 2023. Always talking about some spiritual or consciousness philosophy. His contents its pretty mind-blowing, and also give me some inspiration about spiritual stuffed. I have joined an organization called Toastmasters, so I have to prepare a speech. I have written a few contents too……. Here is one of the speeches below…..

I love my big toes

One day, I made an Indian friend through language exchange activities. We had a chat about the caste system in India. In many ways, India is very conventional. The caste system divides people into different social statuses. It's an ancient system of social hierarchy based on their birth. The caste system in India has historical roots and can impact people's lives!

Because I'm so curious, I asked him: For those from the lower classes, can they change their future lives and choose their own pathways? Perhaps move to other cities or change their names? But he told me that it's not possible. He said everyone knows everyone in India.

India is so big! India is the most populous country in the world, even more populous than China.

How can people know each other so well? He told me that families put missing and found photos in the public newspaper.

I think this is insane! The newspaper in there must be like an album of Graduation yearbooks!

Then I asked another question: If two couples fall in love but are from different castes, is it possible for them to get married or run away to start a new life? He told me that's not possible. If it were to happen, they might even be killed by their family members. I was shocked to hear this. I asked if it was illegal to kill someone. He said it's definitely illegal, but sadly, it still happens sometimes in small villages.

I can't believe reality can be even worse than Romeo and Juliet! Poisoning themselves seems like a better option than being hunted and killed by their families. It turns out, that Romeo and Juliet might actually have a happy ending compared to certain situations in India.

Then he showed me a photo of his family. He has four sisters, all wearing traditional Indian dresses called saris. However, the photo was taken in the countryside, and I wondered why they don't wear jeans, trousers, or sneakers for easier movement. He explained that his sisters have never worn jeans or sneakers in their lifetimes.

I wonder where these torturous traditions come from. There are so many restrictions on women's lives in India, and it can seem misogynistic. Interestingly, even though I'm also an Asian girl, I was treated with respect during my time in India. Is that kind of race but in a good way?

By mention of sneakers reminded me of about 900 years ago in China. Chinese women used to bind their feet, making them extremely small, almost like walking on fingertips.

The tiny feet Are also a symbol of high Social status. And the tiniest your feet are sexier, but from the ancient perspective! even though they made normal walking impossible. This tradition lasted for about 165 years. It's hard to understand where these abusive traditional ideas come from. And it's not even strict monogamy; definitely not worthy to sacrifice like that.

This is not fashion, those traditions treat women more like women is an objects, not Human beings!

I bet our ancestors would have never believed that women today could comfortably walk with larger feet and show off Disney-style manicures on their nails. We can even show our big toes to people other than just our husbands on our wedding night.

We even make a reel and post it on Instagram! Having your nails done is a positive persona!

Because my major was fashion! when I was in college, we knew fashion was an identity, Throughout history, these 100 years, fashion hasn’t changed much, and it is like a cycle, we can see people wearing 60s Hippie style at music festivals, or 1990s fashion style, girls show their bellies.!

I've started to wonder what will happen in another 100 years. Will we be dominated by AI or aliens? Or perhaps fabrics could change their patterns while also keeping us warm, Or the fabric can be changed in the Illustration, just like wearing a panel screen Fabric!

Must be something Beyond our imagination!
